Hello! Glad you could stop in for a visit! Here are some things about my life that might help you feel like you know me better. I am married to a handsome guitar-playing Peruvian man named David. We were married in an oak forest. We have three treasures, Winter, Danny and Lucy.

I grew up in a little town accross the ocean called Izmir. It's a city adjacent to the Aegean sea in the beautiful country of Turkey. I speak two languages, English and Turkish. My favorite instrument is the cello because it resonates in your chest in that same place that starts aching a little bit when something is too beautiful or sad. My favorite time of day is golden hour.

I started writing music on my little electric keyboard when I was ten. I never stopped hearing the rhythms and sad melodies of my childhood; the sound of Turkish folk music. Much of my music has been influenced by those sounds. In my writing I try to narrow the gap between the two worlds that are a part of me - the Middle Eastern one and the Western one. This gap has stretched and defined me. To be part of both worlds is a privilege and a burden. But it's made me who I am today and I wouldn't change it for anything.

When I was 17 I left Turkey and moved to another sunny spot on the globe, Californiayyyy :) to study music composition. While studying I started doing small film scoring projects on the side for film students and quickly fell in love with writing music in the middle of the night with 10 cups of coffee to keep me company and a music theory exam the next morning. When I graduated I began working in the industry, won a sprinkle of best music awards, made a few babies and founded Jacaranda Music Studios with David. (We’re a music teaching studio in Orange County, California! Come check us out!)

Most of the music I write these days was written with a baby cooking in my belly or in between breastfeeding sessions. We love Jesus (the real one who loves people instead of judging them) and lead worship music at our church. We relocated to North Carolina so our kid’s souls could grow wild and free amid streams, woods and mountains. ;) We are also songwriters and are working on releasing our first album together.

Some of my favorite things are adventuring in the wilds of North Carolina with my family, life-coaching my kids, baking yummyness, taking care of my garden and snuggling up with coffee and a good book.
